About Marsha

Marsha Familaro Enright, B.A. in Biology, Northwestern University, M.A. Psychology, The New School for Social Research, is an educational entrepreneur, educator, and writer on a broad range of topics, from neuropsychology to philosophy to contemporary literature.

She created the Reason, Individualism, Freedom Institute (RIFI), which runs The Great Connections Seminars. Its Great Books-based full liberal arts program uses a powerful methodology to provide a truly broad education, encompassing the full range of influential ideas in civilization. It is informed by Ayn Rand’s ideas,  the Montessori Method, and Classical Liberalism. RIFI’s long-term goal is to establish a new college in which not only the ideas, but the methodology prepares students to live in a free society.

She’s co-founder and president of the 25 year old Council Oak Montessori Elementary School. It was named one of the top private elementary schools in Chicago by Chicago Magazine in 2009 and 2011.

She’s spoken at The Atlas Society Summer Seminar for over 20 years and she is on their Advisory Board. She was a curriculum developer and teacher for Camp Indecon, a summer camp aimed at communicating the fundamentals of a rational and practical, reality-based philosophy to children aged 9-16.

Marsha taught Ayn Rand’s theory of politics for the Free Market Society of Chicago and was a board member to its successor organization, The Henry Hazlitt Institute, which produced Free-Market.Net in the 90’s.

In 1988 she founded one of the oldest Objectivist salons, The New Intellectual Forum, which continues to meet to this day in Chicago.
